Orforglipron Price: What Foundayo Costs With and Without Insurance
The short answer
Foundayo (orforglipron) costs $149 a month for the 0.8 mg starting dose through LillyDirect and up to $349 for the top doses, or $299 if refilled within 45 days, as read on 8 November 2026. With commercial insurance that covers it, Lilly's card brings it to as little as $25 a month. The list price is $649, and Medicare's GLP-1 Bridge charges a $50 copay.
Foundayo, the brand name of orforglipron, costs $149 to $349 a month if you pay cash through Lilly, depending on the tablet strength, and as little as $25 a month with commercial insurance that covers it. The list price is $649 a month for every strength. Every price below was read on Lilly's and the government's own pages on 8 November 2026; several end on 31 December 2026, so check the date before you rely on one. For the drug itself, see orforglipron (Foundayo).
Foundayo cost without insurance: LillyDirect self-pay
LillyDirect sells a 30-tablet month for cash with a prescription (LillyDirect, terms). The price rises with the dose:
| Tablet | Price now | Regular price | Condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.8 mg (starting dose) | $149 | $149 | |
| 2.5 mg | $149 | $199 | Reduced price runs to 31 December 2026 |
| 5.5 mg | $199 | $299 | Reduced price runs to 31 December 2026 |
| 9 mg | $299 | $299 | |
| 14.5 mg | $299 | $349 | $299 only if refilled within 45 days |
| 17.2 mg | $299 | $349 | $299 only if refilled within 45 days |
Lilly's footnote: "Self-pay only. Prescription required. Additional taxes and fees may apply. Month is defined as 30-days. NOT INSURANCE." The pharmacies behind LillyDirect are Amazon Pharmacy, Fuze Health, Gifthealth and Walmart Pharmacy, with free shipping or retail pick-up. Lilly says Foundayo is also sold through telehealth providers and US retail pharmacies (Lilly medical information).
What the first six months cost
The label steps the dose up no faster than every 30 days: 0.8, 2.5, 5.5, 9, 14.5 and 17.2 mg. Paying cash for one month at each step costs $1,394 at the prices on 8 November 2026, or $1,644 at the regular prices. Our arithmetic, not a Lilly figure, and many people stop at a lower dose, which costs less.
With insurance: the $25 savings card
Lilly's card says: "If you are eligible and commercially insured with coverage for Foundayo, you could pay as low as $25 a month." The terms cap the saving at $100 for a one-month fill and $1,000 a year, so $25 only holds when your plan's charge is within $100 of it. The card is for people on commercial plans, not Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE or the VA, and it expires on 31 December 2026 (Lilly terms). If your commercial plan does not cover Foundayo, the same card gives you the self-pay prices above.
List price and TrumpRx
- List price (WAC): $649 for a 30-tablet pack of any strength, Lilly's April 2026 disclosure (Lilly WAC sheet). That is what wholesalers are charged before discounts, not what most patients pay. Whether it has changed since April we have not verified.
- TrumpRx lists Foundayo "Starting at $149.00" and sends buyers to LillyDirect; it states the same reduced 2.5 mg and 5.5 mg prices (TrumpRx).
- The deal behind it. The White House said in November 2025 that "The price of Zepbound and Orforglipron, if approved, will fall from $1,086 per month to an average of $346 when purchased through TrumpRx" (White House fact sheet).
Medicare and Medicaid
From 1 July 2026 to 31 December 2027 Medicare runs a demonstration, the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge, in which "Eligible beneficiaries will have a $50 copay" (CMS). All Foundayo strengths are on it, alongside Wegovy and the Zepbound KwikPen; coupons cannot be stacked on it (CMS pharmacy FAQ). Lilly lists the criteria: 18 or older, on Part D, using it for weight and not for diabetes, sleep apnoea or fatty liver, and a BMI of 35 or more, or 27 or more with certain weight-related conditions, with prior authorisation from the prescriber (Lilly Medicare page). For Medicaid, the White House said state programmes "will also have access to these medications at these prices"; whether your state covers Foundayo, we have not verified.
Foundayo cost vs Zepbound and the Wegovy pill
| Medicine | Starting dose | Top dose |
|---|---|---|
| Foundayo (orforglipron) tablets | $149 (0.8 mg) | $299 with refill in 45 days, else $349 (17.2 mg) |
| Zepbound (tirzepatide) vials or KwikPen | $299 (2.5 mg) | $449 with refill in 45 days, else $699 (15 mg) |
| Wegovy pill (oral semaglutide) | $149 (1.5 mg) | $299 (25 mg) |
The Zepbound month is 28 days (four vials or one KwikPen), the tablet months are 30. The Wegovy pill price is from TrumpRx. Effect sizes differ too: see Foundayo vs Zepbound.
Outside the US
The UK's MHRA authorised Foundayo on 10 August 2026 but said it "is not available currently via the NHS" (MHRA); the EMA recommended EU authorisation on 16 October 2026, with price and reimbursement left to each member state (EMA). We found no published price outside the US.
Cheap "research" orforglipron
Orforglipron is approved only as Foundayo from Eli Lilly. A powder or capsule sold online as research orforglipron is not that product and has had no FDA review; the FDA warns about GLP-1 products "falsely labeled 'for research purposes' or 'not for human consumption'" (FDA). We do not list any.

What is the list price of orforglipron?
Lilly's wholesale acquisition cost for Foundayo is $649 for a 30-tablet pack of any strength, per its April 2026 disclosure. Most patients pay a self-pay or insured price well below that.
Does insurance cover Foundayo?
It depends on the plan. With commercial coverage for Foundayo, Lilly's savings card brings the cost to as little as $25 a month, capped at $100 of savings a month and $1,000 a year, until 31 December 2026.
Does Medicare cover Foundayo?
Through the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge, from 1 July 2026 to 31 December 2027, eligible Part D members pay a $50 copay for Foundayo, with prior authorisation and BMI criteria. It is for weight management, not diabetes.
Is Foundayo cheaper than Zepbound?
