Research Peptide Prices and the Law: 11 Stores, 50 States (November 2026)
The short version, as of 1 November 2026
- Same vial, very different price. Across 11 research peptide stores whose prices are public, a 10 mg vial of BPC-157 costs USD 25.00 to USD 89.99, a 3.6x gap. GHK-Cu (50 mg) runs USD 20.00 to USD 65.00, NAD+ (500 mg) USD 44.00 to USD 125.00, tirzepatide (30 mg) USD 59.99 to USD 149.99. Tesamorelin and sermorelin vary least, under 1.4x.
- Vial size matters almost as much as the store. At one store, retatrutide costs USD 8.00 per mg in a 5 mg vial and USD 3.83 per mg in a 60 mg vial.
- List prices barely move. Of 119 listings we read on both 14 October 2026 and 1 November 2026, none changed its list price. Across all 11 readings we saw 5 list-price changes, all at one store. Discounts arrive as codes and sales, which list prices do not show.
- Many stores cannot be compared at all. We try to read 16 stores: 3 hide prices behind a login or an access request and 2 could not be read on 1 November 2026.
- The law moved on 28 October, but not for these vials. HHS filed an interim policy not to act against state-licensed pharmacies that compound six peptides under ten conditions. It mentions research-use-only peptides once, as the practice it wants to discourage, and gives their sellers nothing.
Research peptides are sold online as laboratory chemicals labelled "not for human use". There is no public price index for this market, so we built one from the stores' own product data. This page sets out what the data shows on 1 November 2026, how it was collected and where it falls short. Everything here can be downloaded and reused.
None of the compounds below is an FDA-approved drug in the form sold. Nothing on this page is medical advice or a recommendation to buy anything.
Same vial, different store
For each compound we took the vial size that the most stores had in stock on 1 November 2026 and compared the listed price of one vial, in US dollars. Only single-compound, single-vial listings count: no blends, boxes of ten or sale bundles.
| Compound | Vial | Stores in stock | Lowest | Median | Highest | Highest / lowest |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GHK-Cu | 50 mg | 9 | $20.00 | $49.00 | $65.00 | 3.2x |
| BPC-157 | 10 mg | 8 | $25.00 | $54.00 | $89.99 | 3.6x |
| Tesamorelin | 10 mg | 8 | $69.95 | $77.00 | $90.00 | 1.3x |
| NAD+ | 500 mg | 8 | $44.00 | $79.50 | $125.00 | 2.8x |
| Ipamorelin | 5 mg | 7 | $30.00 | $39.99 | $70.00 | 2.3x |
| TB-500 | 5 mg | 5 | $40.00 | $54.00 | $70.00 | 1.8x |
| Retatrutide | 10 mg | 4 | $40.00 | $72.49 | $79.99 | 2.0x |
| Tirzepatide | 30 mg | 4 | $59.99 | $87.50 | $149.99 | 2.5x |
| Sermorelin | 10 mg | 4 | $59.99 | $68.50 | $79.99 | 1.3x |
The full BPC-157 10 mg comparison:
| Store | 10 mg vial | Per mg |
|---|---|---|

| Amino Club † | $39.99 | $4.00 |
| Ascension Peptides † | $49.00 | $4.90 |
| Aurelia Research (US store) † | $49.99 | $5.00 |
| Amino USA | $58.00 | $5.80 |
| Penguin Peptides | $62.00 | $6.20 |
| Direct Peptides (directpeptides.com) | $89.00 | $8.90 |
| PSPeptides † | $89.99 | $9.00 |
† Peptide Bureau has an affiliate arrangement with this store, live or being set up (see the disclosure below). Prices are read by a script from each store's own product data, so the mark changes nothing in the table.
Bigger vials cost less per milligram
Within a single store, the largest vial is often far cheaper per mg than the smallest. The six biggest gaps on 1 November 2026:
| Store | Compound | Smallest vial | Largest vial | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Penguin Peptides | NAD+ | 100 mg: $0.30/mg | 1000 mg: $0.12/mg | 2.5x |
| PSPeptides † | Retatrutide | 5 mg: $8.00/mg | 60 mg: $3.83/mg | 2.1x |
| PSPeptides † | Tirzepatide | 10 mg: $5.50/mg | 120 mg: $2.75/mg | 2.0x |
| Amino USA | Tesamorelin | 2 mg: $15.00/mg | 10 mg: $9.00/mg | 1.7x |
| Ion Peptides † | Tesamorelin | 5 mg: $9.00/mg | 20 mg: $5.45/mg | 1.7x |
| Penguin Peptides | Tesamorelin | 5 mg: $9.00/mg | 20 mg: $6.25/mg | 1.4x |
So "cheapest per mg" lists that mix vial sizes mostly rank vial sizes, not stores. Comparing like with like takes the same vial size, which is why the table above does.
List prices barely move
This report uses 11 readings between 14 October 2026 and 1 November 2026 (14 and 19 October, then every day from 24 October). Of the 119 listings present in both the first and the last reading, none changed price. In all, 5 list-price changes showed up, all at Luv Aminos: three cuts (retatrutide 30 mg USD 100 to 90, GHK-Cu 50 mg USD 25 to 20, BPC-157 10 mg USD 30 to 25) and two rises (retatrutide 10 mg USD 35 to 40, NAD+ 1,000 mg USD 55 to 60). 9 of 139 listings were out of stock on 1 November 2026.
Stores in this market compete through discount codes, first-order offers and affiliate links rather than list prices. Those discounts are real but they are not public prices, so this index leaves them out.
Price says nothing about what is in the vial
The only check a buyer can make before paying is whether a store publishes third-party test results (certificates of analysis) for the batch it ships. What the 11 stores publish, as last read by the Peptide Bureau desk (each store's review carries the date):
| Store | What the store publishes about testing, as read by the desk |
|---|---|
| Amino Club † | Batch COA on every product page from an 8-assay panel at an ISO 17025 lab. |
| Amino USA | States a three-lab testing practice. |
| Ascension Peptides † | Two dated third-party COAs per product (Kovera Labs, MZ Biolabs). |
| Aurelia Research (US store) † | ILS Laboratories COA for every strength, confirmed on the lab's portal; HPLC only. |
| Direct Peptides (directpeptides.com) | Public COA library with lot numbers (Houston site). |
| Ion Peptides † | Names a Tennessee testing lab. |
| Luv Aminos † | Lot-matched Freedom Diagnostics COA on every product page, verifiable on the lab's server; fill 87% to 143% of label. |
| Pantheon Peptides † | Public Lab Results page with batch-searchable COAs. |
| Penguin Peptides | Testing lab not named on the pages the Bureau read. |
| PSPeptides † | Batch COA on every product page. |
| Sports Technology Labs | Per-batch COAs from accredited US labs, published on the site. |
A certificate shows what one lab found in one sample. It is not proof that the vial you receive matches it, and even published certificates vary: one store's own lot certificates show fills from 87% to 143% of the labelled amount.
Where the law stands on 1 November 2026
- Federal, 28 October 2026. HHS filed an "Enforcement Discretion Policy Regarding 503A Compounding Using Certain Peptide Bulk Drug Substances", printed in the Federal Register on 30 October (91 FR 68526). It covers BPC-157, epitalon, KPV, MOTS-c, semax and TB-500 compounded by state-licensed pharmacies, federal facilities and licensed physicians, under ten conditions. It is interim and not binding, and comments are open on regulations.gov until 13 November 2026. It is not an FDA approval. Our reading of the full text: HHS published its peptide compounding policy.
- The research-chemical market. The policy mentions research-use-only peptides once, as the practice it wants to discourage. Nothing in it covers the stores in the tables above.
- The advisory vote. In July 2026 the FDA's compounding advisory committee backed six of seven peptides, none by more than three votes (every tally).
- States (our dataset, updated 20 October 2026). 19 of 50 state pharmacy boards have a published position on compounded or research-grade GLP-1 drugs. Three state medical boards (Alabama, South Carolina and Mississippi) told licensees in 2026 they may not prescribe, administer or dispense research-grade peptides. Ten states name a peptide hormone in their own drug law.
- Enforcement. 29 enforcement and regulatory actions on peptide and GLP-1 sellers (warning letters, DOJ cases, lawsuits, state cases, FDA proposals and votes) from 23 April 2025 to 14 October 2026, each with its primary document, are in the enforcement tracker.

Method and limits
- Source. A script reads each store's own product data once a day at about 07:30 UTC: the WooCommerce Store API where the store runs on it, the product page data where it does not. Coded product names (for example "AMP-2 (TR)") are matched to a compound only where the desk has already tied the code to it; other coded listings are left out rather than guessed.
- Stores. 16 stores the desk has reviewed or been asked about. 11 could be read on 1 November 2026: Amino Club, Amino USA, Ascension Peptides, Aurelia Research (US store), Direct Peptides (directpeptides.com), Ion Peptides, Luv Aminos, Pantheon Peptides, Penguin Peptides, PSPeptides, Sports Technology Labs. Not comparable: Limitless Life Peptides, OMNI Peptides, Southern Aminos (prices need a login or access request); Apollo Peptide Sciences, Peptide Partners (could not be read on 1 November 2026). This is not the whole market, and it leans toward US stores with public prices.
- What counts. One vial of one compound, at the listed price in US dollars, before codes, shipping or tax. The same-vial table uses the vial size the most stores stock, in-stock listings only, and a store's lowest price if it lists that size twice.
- What it cannot see. Purity, fill and sterility; discount codes; whether an order ships. A low price can mean a store is cheap, small or about to disappear.
- History. 11 readings, 14 October 2026 to 1 November 2026: 14 and 19 October, then daily from 24 October. The CSV holds every reading, so the numbers on this page can be recomputed.
